|An Introduction to the Life and Work of Krishnamurti|
Krishnamurti video and open dialogue/inquiry
Sunday, April 2, 2017, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
J. Krishnamurti who lived a long life (1895--1986) is not easy to categorize along conventional or academic lines.
One might call him a revolutionary thinker, a religious teacher, an innovative educator, or a spiritual philosopher, but in the end, none of these descriptions are entirely fitting.
And yet, his teachings - if they can be designated as such - expressed in numerous public talks all over the world, revealed in dialogues and interviews, and poetically articulated in his writings, are a unique and profound treasure for all of humanity, a source of possible insight and transformation. They explore the human condition of all cultures, societies and nations, and offer a new approach to the myriad daily problems that human beings, individually and collectively, are confronted with across the globe.
Therefore, the Krishnamurti Educational Center in Ojai offers an introductory presentation for those who have newly discovered J. Krishnamurti's work, or are entirely unfamiliar with it.
A regular monthly time-slot will be set aside for groups or larger numbers of interested individuals who would like to participate in this event. It will normally take place in the large meeting room of Pine Cottage (former home of J. Krishnamurti and Mary Zimbalist), now functioning as the Krishnamurti Library, on the first Sunday morning of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Apart from this, the Librarian is usually ready to provide shorter impromptu introductions for individuals or couples during regular Library hours: Fridays - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and public holidays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is also possible to schedule tours of the property and introductory presentations by prior appointment.
